In northern Brazil, these environments are under the influence of macrotides regimes, resulting in low slope environments and an extensive intertidal area. However, most of the studies in these environments were carried out on beaches of temperate and subtropical regions of microtides. The present study aimed to evaluate possible spatial (beach) and temporal (climatic) changes in the structure (density, richness, diversity and fairness) of the macrobenthic communities of an amazonic exposed beach, located in the region of Salinópolis, state of Pará. For this, samples were taken at different seasonal periods along two profiles perpendicular to the water line, at seven points distant 50m apart. At each point 4 replicates were collected to analyze macrofauna, one for particle size and one for organic matter. In the laboratory, the samples were washed in a 0.3 mm aperture mesh and stereomicroscopically screened, the granulometry was determined by sieving the coarse sediments and pipetting the fine ones, and the organic matter content by calcination. For each sample the richness (total number of taxa), density (ind / m2), diversity (H - LOGE) and fairness (J 'de Pielou) between points and periods were determined using univariate analysis (ANOVA) and multivariate analyzes ANOSIM, MDS, SIMPER and Bioenv). A total of 270 organisms, belonging to 21 taxa and four phyla, Anellida and (9 taxa), followed by Artropoda (9 taxons), Mollusca (2 taxons), and Nemertea (1 taxon) were found. Lower densities and lower found in the dry period compared to the rainy season. Fairness and diversity presented similar values and different behaviors between periods and points. The polychaetes Paraonis sp, Thoracophelia papillata and the bivalves Donax striatus and Petricolaria sp were the dominant organisms on the beach. Among the studied periods the macrofauna presented distinct zonation patterns, being 3 zones found in the rainy season and 2 in the dry period. Among the abiotic variables the grain size was the most significant factor, followed by the presence of organic matter in the fine sediments in the rainy season and the moisture content of the sediment in the dry period.Acesso AbertoBentosMacrofaunaPraia do Farol Velho - PASalinópolis - PACNPQ::CIENCIAS EXATAS E DA TERRA::OCEANOGRAFIADistribuição espaço-temporal da macrofauna bentônica em uma praia de macromaré amazônicaTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia
