Mining exploration and environment and their interactions (synergies) get worsen environmental and social impacts if relegated to a second place. The main impacts are leaking or breaching of tailing dams and the dispersion of pollutants by atmospheric or hydric path. In Brazil, mining plays a significant role for country’s economy.
