These assessments have occupied a central place in Brazilian educational policies, influencing the organization of pedagogical work, teaching practices, management processes, and internal relations in public schools. In this scenario, teachers assume functions that go beyond the classroom, articulating pedagogical, political, and social dimensions, while simultaneously needing to respond to demands for results and goals established by the assessment systems. The main objective of this work is to analyze the pedagogical challenges faced by teachers in the face of the demands of large-scale assessments, discussing their implications for pedagogical work, school organization, and teaching practice. Methodologically, this is a qualitative research study, based on a bibliographic study on school management and educational assessment, seeking to understand perceptions about the impacts of external assessments on institutional daily life. It is concluded that, although external evaluations are presented as instruments for diagnosing the quality of education, they generate tensions in daily school life, affecting planning, teacher autonomy, and collective work.
