Against this backdrop, this study analyzes the fifth book in the Harry Potter saga, drawing parallels with the perspectives of various authors. General Objective: To identify the strategies used to combat disinformation within the universe of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Methodology: This research employs a qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive approach, focusing on a documentary analysis of the literary work Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Data and information were gathered through bibliographic research, consulting theoretical records in books, scientific journals, and online materials addressing the concepts of disinformation and fake news. Results: The research revealed that, in specific passages of the fifth book (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix), disinformation is represented in the plot through the Daily Prophet—a newspaper within the Harry Potter universe—where the young Harry Potter frequently falls victim to hate speech and fake news. Final Considerations: The study discusses the presence of disinformation in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, how the main characters combat it, and the strategies they employ within the narrative. Upon achieving the general objective, it became evident that combating disinformation is not limited to verifying sources but also depends on the individual's critical thinking skills. The practical significance of this research lies in its ability to bridge theoretical concepts regarding disinformation and fake news—as defined by leading authors—with impactful literary analysis, while aligning these insights with the current contemporary landscape using the book as a case study.Acesso AbertoDesinformaçãoFake newsHarry PotterControle informacionalDisinformationInformation controlCNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::CIENCIA DA INFORMACAO::BIBLIOTECONOMIAExpresso de Hogwarts: a presença da desinformação em Harry Potter e a Ordem da FênixTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - ArtigoAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazil
