Acesso em: .https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8926This Final Course Project (TCC) investigated the purpose of smartphone use in the classroom by students of the 2020 Pedagogy Course at the Federal University of Pará, Faculty of Education, Bragança University Campus. The research stemmed from the context of the increased use of technology in Higher Education, intensified during the Covid-19 pandemic. In this horrific scenario of the 2020 pandemic, when mobile devices were one of the main resources for the Remote Teaching process, teaching through remote classes, academic activities, readings, note-taking, communication, and entertainment. The research used a qualitative and quantitative approach, applying a questionnaire via Google Forms, to investigate how and how often smartphones are used in academic activities by students of the 2020 Pedagogy Class, FACED/CBRAG/UFPA, and content analysis. A bibliographic survey conducted in the Monograph Database (BDM) located a Final Project from the 2017 FACED/CBRAG/Capanema class on the use of digital technologies by teachers and students of the class. Thus, studies in Pedagogy on the use of technology in the classroom in the field of Education are rare. Seventeen students participated in the research, 3 men and 17 women, aged between 22 and 41 years. The results show that the 2020 FACED/CBRAG Pedagogy class uses smartphones mainly for research, reading, note-taking, and academic communication, although they are also used for leisure and access to social networks.
