In such factors a number of difficulties for the performance of the daily activities of these individuals directly impacting on the quality of life of this group of subjects. The study sought to answer the following problem: What are the benefits that can be generated by practicing physical activities for the elderly? Developed through a bibliographical research, in which nineteen articles produced between the years of 2005 and 2016 were selected. The study verified that there is an advanced and rapid aging process that is affecting the Brazilian population and the general population. And with this occur the physiological changes in the human body, coming from this aging process, noting that the body of the individuals passes naturally through a continuous and gradual process of degeneration regarding the capabilities of physical fitness, in what is evidenced with great prominence , being the muscular strength and flexibility capabilities. It was concluded that there is a great incipience of academic productions on the subject and the existing ones within this theme point to incomplete and superficial results regarding more effective methods, more appropriate types of exercises, and percentage quantification of the presented benefits. improvements through the application of questionnaires, which in turn, may not present exactly accurate results regarding the quantification of the benefits caused by the physical fitness components now related in the present research.Acesso AbertoExercícios físicosIdososExerciseOlder peopleCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDEExercício físico sistematizado: benefícios para força muscular e flexibilidade em indivíduos idososSystematized exercise: benefits for muscle strength and flexibility in older individualsTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia
