Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9334This article examines the construction of memory regarding UFO phenomena in Colares/PA, which resulted in Operation Prato in the 1970s, carried out by the Brazilian Air Force (FAB). The research adopted a qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive approach, based on bibliographic and documentary research, and seeks to understand how information about events involving unidentified aerial phenomena and reports of attacks resulting in burns, paralysis, and weakness is mediated in the newspapers of the Arthur Viana Public Library in Belém/PA, specifically the titles A Província do Pará, O Estado do Pará, and O Liberal, within the time frame of 1970-1978. From the journalistic articles, it is possible to understand the importance that the press gave to the case amidst the military silence at the time.
