Avaliação in vitro de diferentes métodos de irrigação para remoção da pasta de hidróxido de cálcio em áreas com reabsorção radicular. 2018. 21 f. Acesso em:.http://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/978The objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of the XP-Endo Finisher instruments, passive ultrasonic irrigation (PUI) and Easy Clean in the removal of calcium hydroxide paste (CH) in association with differents vehicles in areas of simulated root resorption. Methods: Root canals of 60 unirradicular teeth were prepared up to size 30. Specimens were divided longitudinally and standard internal resorption cavities were prepared with the aid of drills. The elements were divided into two groups, one group being filled with Ultracal Xs (Ultradent, Idaiatuba, SP, Brazil) and the other with the HC PA paste associated with propylene glycol. Then, the two groups (n = 30) were subdivided into 6 subgroups according to the removal protocol (n = 10): PUI (G1 and G4), Easy Clean (G2 and G5) and XP-Endo Finisher and G6). The channels were irrigated with 2.5% NaOCl and 17% EDTA for 3 min. HC remnants were present in the resorption wells. The data were analyzed by means of scores and the Kruskal-Wallis test showed that there was a significant difference (P <.05). Results: At the middle third level, comparing the removal protocol using the same vehicle, the groups behaved in the same way. Regarding removal of the pulp with different carriers, groups G4, G5 and G6 removed more residues than G1, G2 and G3. In the apical third, the groups G4 and G6 were superior to the groups with similar withdrawal protocols, but with different vehicle, and superior to the group G2. Conclusions: None of the protocols completely removed the CH paste from the simulated internal resorptions, and there is an inflexibility of the vehicle associated with CH powder in this removal.
