Acesso em:https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9706This monograph investigates the socio-spatial dynamics between the Jardim Universitário Condominium and the urban surroundings of the Guamá neighborhood, in Belém, Pará, through a perceptive analysis grounded in the phenomenology of architecture and discourse analysis. The research combines qualitative and quantitative methods, including interviews with condominium residents and local dwellers, surveys applied to passersby, and field observations, aiming to understand how different actors perceive and experience this urban space marked by contrasts. The findings indicate that, while the condominium is perceived by its residents as a place of safety, tranquility, and refuge, for the surrounding community it represents a segregated enclave, reinforced by physical and symbolic walls. These perceptions reveal inequalities in urban ambience and highlight tensions between private and public space, showing how the Jardim Universitário impacts the landscape, daily practices, and sociability in Guamá.
