The importance of this research in analyzing pain remission in patients with muscular temporomandibular disorders treated with an occlusal device and kinesio taping is highlighted. Were analyzed 30 patients and divided into 3 different treatment groups, the occlusal device group (OD), the kinesio taping group (KT) and the occlusal device and kinesio taping group (OD / KT). All participants underwent to an inclusion criteria (≥18 years and ≤ 60 years, fully toothed or with occlusal stability and signed formally for participate on the research) as well as exclusion criteria (oral lesions, EJ changes, totally toothless, with surgical procedures, diseases neurological and under treatment by orthodontic appliance or medication). The painful symptomatology of the chewing muscles were analyzed throughout the treatment period (90 days), using the visual analog scale (VAS) to measure pain. All data were tabulated in Excel 2010 and for statistical analysis the nominal logistic regression method test was performed. It was found that the female gender had a higher prevalence of TMD, with 91.1% of participants, the study also showed a greater predominance of patients aged 20-40 years.
