Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9722This paper discusses the challenges of literacy in the early years of elementary education after the pandemic in a public school in the city of Breves. We started from the following objectives: Identify the impacts of the pandemic in the literacy process of children from 1st to 5th grade in the return to classroom; Analyze the challenges faced by teachers to teach literacy; Know the strategies used by teachers to face these challenges. This is a qualitative research that made use of bibliographic and documental data, participant observation, and informal conversations with teachers from the field school. Theoretically, it seeks foundations in authors such as Magda Soares (1985; 2003), Silva and Mendes (2022) and others. The data analyzed revealed that many students had difficulties regarding fine motor coordination, identification of some phonemes and content understanding, as well as the lack of continuing education, lack of resources and lack of time for planning activities by teachers.
