The research seeks to understand how this knowledge is linked to the heritage of indigenous peoples, specifically the Tupinambá. Methodologically, it relies on oral history through a qualitative analysis of interviews conducted with local participants. Theoretically, the work is grounded in the concepts of collective and individual memory—as presented by Maurice Halbwachs-and in discussions regarding Afro-Indigenous identities proposed by Agenor Sarraf. Throughout its sections, the study contextualizes the municipality's historical and social trajectory, addressing the cosmological concepts that shape religion, folk medicine, daily farming life, and cassava flour production in the community. The investigation’s main results reveal that the knowledge and practices found in the community members' daily lives are a legacy of indigenous peoples, highlighting a profound sense of belonging to the territory.
