Acesso em: .https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8982This study aims to discuss the impact of the social environment on the writing development process of 2nd-year high school students from a state public school located in the city of Bragança, Pará (Brazil). It seeks to understand how internal and external factors to the school influence these students’ performance in written text production activities. The research, which adopts a qualitative approach, was developed based on experiences from the Supervised Internship and the Institutional Program for Teaching Initiation Scholarships (PIBID). Data collection involved questionnaires administered to students, an interview with the class teacher, and field observations conducted during these formative experiences. The results show that economic vulnerability and the need to balance studies with family responsibilities directly affect writing learning. However, it was also observed that the social environment can enhance writing development when the school recognizes students’ experiences and cultural repertoires.
