It represents not only social class but also the standard solution adopted by government programs in an attempt to reduce the housing deficit that has persisted for decades in Brazil. These classes' way of inhabiting their living space and surroundings is ignored when they are forced to leave their home or accept housing that does not align with their culture. This research aims to explore the popular wisdom adopted in its construction and the ambiance created, contributing to the conception of new projects or interventions that will benefit from comfort and well-being, thus creating stronger ties with their local culture. Amazonian vernacular architecture, together with the guidelines contained in the ATHIS (Technical Assistance for Social Interest Housing) law, provides tools to facilitate this research, which, in its essence, aims to rescue the traits that are slowly disappearing but stubbornly remain.
