It shows the importance of music as an information source for society and for librarianship. Through a theoretical and exploratory research with qualitative and bibliographic approach, we explore music as an information source for librarianship. Thus, we have established a relationship between the information and the music in the Library universe. We analyzed the lyrics of the bands Engenheiros do Hawaii, Tropicália, Sex Pistols, John Lennon and Delinquentes, emphasizing the use of the lyrics as a cultural information source.
