Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/7897The present work intends to demonstrate, from the bibliographical research, how the Theater of the Oppressed, as systematized by Augusto Boal, can be articulated as a pedagogical instrument for a liberating education practice. The methodology employed was based on research with a qualitative approach with descriptive procedures and data analysis based on a bibliographic survey on Theater of the Oppressed (TO) articulated with Freire's perspectives, which brings elements for the construction of a practice of a critical-emancipatory nature through the liberating education. The results show that there are relationships between what Augusto Boal and Paulo Freire defend, making it possible to introduce TO as a pedagogical instrument to fine-tune a liberating education. Greater consonances between them can happen from the moment that both succeed in strengthening questioning citizen practices and social changes in favor of a libertarian and critical transformation.
