With the main objective of this research is to understand the activity of collection development, applying the methodology Conspectus, recommended (IFLA) in the Attorney General's Office in the state of Pará. As the following specific objectives: a) to describe levels of the PR/PA collection by areas, as a study that intends to apply the Conspectus methodology to collection; b) identify the trends of the PR/PA subjects, according to the institutional mission and scope of the institutional chambers, and c) model collection development processes, with emphasis on selection and acquisition. The methodology used was the exploratory research in the state of the art of collection development in the national authors considered reference on the subject, in addition to being based on the understanding of the Conspectus method both nationally and internationally and its possibility of being used to evaluate the collection of legal libraries together with the selection criteria, standardization of the acquisition activities of the Procuradoria da República no Estado do Pará, as a basis for a collection development policy. The research is also descriptive to invent the main subjects and class by levels of the collection.
