Thus, low visual acuity, generally associated with advanced age, is caused, for example, by senile cataract, which causes clouding of the ocular lens, whose prevalence among individuals aged 60 years or older exceeds 70%, according to the Brazilian Council of Ophthalmology. And taking into account that this disease evolves over time and, if the affected individual does not receive appropriate treatment, he or she may suffer worsening of his or her daily living conditions until progressing to total blindness. Objective: This study aims to outline the clinical-epidemiological profile of patients aged 60 years or older affected by senile cataract in a private ophthalmology clinic in the city of Santarém. Methodology: the research will be observational, descriptive and retrospective based on the analysis of data from the medical records of patients treated between 2020 and 2023, adopting the following Inclusion Criteria: Patients with a confirmed diagnosis of cataract. Individuals who underwent follow-up at the clinic during the study period. Exclusion Criteria: Patients with incomplete data, patients who consulted before the period determined by the research or with incomplete data in the medical records. Sample Size: 480 patients were included in the analysis. Microsoft Excel 2016 will be used for data entry. And for future analysis of the results using the Kaplan Meier method, the R Core Team 2020 software will be used with a significance level of 5% (p < 0.05) in order to verify the association between the study variables.Acesso AbertoCatarata senilIdosoPerfil clínico-epidemiológicoKaplan meierSenile cataractElderlyClinical-epidemiological profileCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::MEDICINA::CLINICA MEDICAPerfil clínico-epidemiológico de pacientes com catarata senilTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - MonografiaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazil
