This study qualitatively examines the teacher's manuals of three textbook collections approved for the 2024 Brazilian National Textbook Program cycle: “Jornadas: Novos Caminhos: História”, “Jovens Sapiens História”, and “SuperAÇÃO! História”, all first published in 2022. It investigates how Egypt's African belonging is constructed through texts, maps, images, activities, and teacher guidance according to six dimensions: location and framing; connections and circulation; agency and authorship; criticism of racism, Eurocentrism, and Orientalism; visual and audiovisual mediation; and women, gender, and power. The study places the books within the BNCC and PNLD curricular context, expands the discussion of Cheikh Anta Diop, and distinguishes African belonging from a homogeneous racial identity. All three collections recognize, to different degrees, Egypt's African location and its relations with Kush and Nubia, but differ in the continuity of critical discussion, the complexity of activities, and the way Egypt is integrated into other African histories. The final section proposes sixth-grade teaching approaches connecting territory, technologies, labor, trade routes, African contacts, gender, and modern representations. Conclusions are limited to the three collections and the components actually examined.
