Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8185This Coursework (TC) aims to investigate the role of the STTR (Rural Workers' Union) in land ownership by farming families in Oeiras do Pará, acting as a conflict mitigator. Conflicts involve the interests of antagonistic classes, reflecting the dynamics of a divided society, and unions play a crucial role in the struggle for land ownership and regularization, especially for rural workers. In Oeiras do Pará, the STTR acts as a fundamental body in the articulation of this process. The methodological approach of the research dialogues with the qualitative approach and the main guiding tool is participant observation. The data were systematized by combining the responses of the interviewees with observations about the interaction with the STTR. We used descriptive statistics to analyze the data. The main results indicate that the continuous guidance of members to remain on their properties and the formation of associations strengthens the collective struggle and minimizes agrarian conflicts. The support of the STTR in the demarcation of lots and the creation of extractive reserves are concrete examples of the victories obtained.
