The research was conducted at Antônio Gondim Lins Municipal Elementary School in Altamira/PA, through a pedagogical intervention structured in progressive stages, including theoretical contextualization, construction, analysis, and presentation of the sketches. The methodology involved creating representative sketches of the school space, allowing students to identify spatial elements and apply concepts such as orientation, scale, and legend. The results indicate that using sketch maps enhanced the understanding of lived space and made learning more dynamic. However, socioeconomic factors were found to directly influence how students represent space, requiring differentiated pedagogical approaches. The analysis showed that the active methodology applied contributed to greater student engagement, promoting the development of geographical thinking and critical spatial interpretation.
