Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/3546The objective of this study is to conduct an ethnobotanical survey of the agroforestry backyards of the Ramal dos Cocos allotment, Vitória the Xingu-PA, analyzing the importance of the species use by the keepers and the floristic diversity found. We sought to identify and select the species according to ethnocategories, and to estimate the values of importance and diversity of species cultivated in the allotment. The interlocutors were selected using the snowball technique and the collection was through a semi-structured questionnaire. Photographic records of the plants and botanical material collected for identification were constructed. Diversity index, importance value, citation frequency and equitability index were calculated. We reached 90 species, belonging to botanical families. The identified ethnobotanical categories stand out: food, medicinal and ornamental, highlighting the food and medicinal species, which shows concern of the interviewees with the food security of families and health. The shannon index obtained was 3.26, which represents a diversity of species variety in the backyards of the Ramal the Cocos allotment.
