Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/10021This study aims to analyze the integration of environmental issues into the education and training of librarians in Brazil’s Northern Region, investigating how this topic is incorporated into the curricula of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The research considers that librarians, in addition to their technical responsibilities, play a relevant social role as information mediators and agents of socio-environmental awareness. At methods, the study is descriptive in nature and adopts a qualitative approach, based on a bibliographic review and documentary analysis of the Pedagogical Course Projects, curricular matrices, and course syllabi of the selected institutions. The data collected were examined using Bardin’s Content Analysis technique.The results showed that environmental issues are incorporated in a limited and fragmented manner, being identified mainly in elective courses and through cross-curricular approaches. Therefore, it is concluded that librarian education still presents significant gaps regarding the integration of environmental issues, especially in a region marked by the socio-environmental relevance of the Amazon.
