In this context, during the mandatory internship, some difficulties were observed among professionals working in the archival area of the Regional Labor Court of the 8th Region (TRT8) regarding the application of the Records Classification Scheme and the Records Retention and Disposal Schedule, which were outdated and presented some inconsistencies due to institutional and regulatory changes over time. The general objective of this research was to analyze the impacts of the untimely application of the Records Classification Scheme and the Records Retention and Disposal Schedule at this Court. The research is qualitative in nature, with an exploratory approach, of a documentary type, using the case study as a research strategy. For data collection, interviews were conducted, based on a semi-structured questionnaire, with archival professionals and interns. The results showed that the prolonged use of records management instruments without updating may result in inconsistencies in the classification and disposition of records and, consequently, in other archival activities.
