Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9021The teaching of mathematics has caused reflections on the possibilities of pedagogical change with reference to teaching methodologies and the relationship of students with the subject. In this context, problem solving has occupied a central place in curricular discussions, mainly reflections on the mathematical knowledge inherent to the teaching-learning process mobilized in the problem solving activities. In this perspective, the research aimed to analyze the mathematical knowledge mobilized in the teaching-learning process of mathematics through problem solving from the book The Man Who Calculates, written by Malba Tahan. The research was carried out at a public school in Benevides-PA, with 8th grade students during the supervised internship. A qualitative exploratory research. The analyzes were performed from the records of problem solving taken from Malba Tahan's book, the case of 21 vessels and the fours four. The research pointed out in its results that working with problem solving requires a new attitude of the teacher and the students. It made it possible to reflect on problem solving as a mathematical research tool.Acesso AbertoMatemáticaResolução de problemasMalba TahanMathematicsResolucion of the problemCNPQ::CIENCIAS EXATAS E DA TERRA::MATEMATICAResolução de problemas no processo de ensino e aprendizagem da matemática escolarTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - MonografiaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazil
