Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8008The present work addresses the design and construction of a testing bench intended for the study of friction properties in granular materials. Its construction is guided by the need to understand the behavior of bulk materials in specific contexts, considering the interaction between solid surfaces, based on the Brazilian Standard NBR ISO 12957-2. The project aims to provide an accurate tool for studying the forces involved in this complex phenomenon, highlighting the influence of different materials on the friction response. By integrating parameters such as surface roughness and granulometric characteristics, the goal is to offer a robust experimental platform to investigate and understand the nuances of friction under wall conditions and the interaction between particles. Upon completion of the project, tests were conducted to assess the effectiveness of the bench through the analysis of friction angle measurements. These analyses were performed considering the parameters established by the experimental conditions proposed by the standard. Friction values for wall friction, internal friction, and the coefficient of friction for pellet and granulated ore were found to be close to those in the literature. This demonstrated the success of the bench, achieving the proposed objectives satisfactorily.
