These biosensors are based on waveguides with different geometric configurations and different dielectric media. The aim of this study is to develop a biosensor model that uses the optimized properties of these materials to improve both sensitivity and accuracy. In order to achieve this objective, an analysis using the principles of surface plasmon resonance (SPR), more specifically analyzing the characteristic of reflectance (R), with the incidence of TM (magnetic transverse) mode waves on the structure. The intention is to verify the characteristic that is established when including new types of materials for this was used the Transfer Matrix Method, which is the simulation model used in Matlab. The results were obtained through numerical analysis, in the Comsol simulator and in the Matlab scientific package. The structures were based on the Kretschmann configuration with the use of five layers. The results numbers provide new insights on the observed responses in biosensor reflectance with the use of graphene.
