Acesso em: .https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8097The aim of this paper is to analyze the Navy's actions in the Acre region during the dispute, known in historiography as the “Acre Question”, between Brazil and Bolivia. To do this, we analyzed documents on the expeditions to Acre carried out by the Navy through the “Flotilla do Amazonas”, evaluating the initial motivations for the creation of another grouping of warships called the “Northern Naval Division”. Based on the analysis of these two naval forces, which acted in the territorial conflict between the riparian countries, the research seeks to demonstrate two distinct moments in the Brazilian position in relation to the contested territory: negotiation and claim.
