Acesso em:.http://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/2052This study aimed to know the perception of the families about family health assessment. descriptive qualitative, data collection occurred in the resident community on the banks of the stream of Piriquitaquara, located on the island of Combu belonging to the archipelago Combu-PA, in the Amazon region. The study included 30 family units duly registered in the Health Strategy of the local Family and presenting members with a health problem. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews recorded after signing the Informed Consent and from August to December 2015. For the results, a dimension was investigated: "Perceptions of families about family assessment by nurse ".In the analysis process, emerged the four categories below: Looking at the home visit as personal development and family; Valuing the health professional presence in need of care and not feel abandoned; Questioning access the service by transport difficulties and precariousness of service; Viewing the university, the teaching-learning process in the presence of professional orienta. Diante addition, It highlighted the importance of the University with the Family Health Strategy in the context of islands, with attention to the peculiarities and characteristics of self-appointed residents of riverine.
