Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9787This undergraduate thesis analyzes the socio-environmental impacts resulting from the construction of the Tucuruí Hydroelectric Power Plant in the state of Pará on the quilombola community of Araquembaua, located in the municipality of Baião, between 1974 and 1994. The research adopts a qualitative approach, based on the Oral History method, combining interviews with community residents, institutional documentation, press records, and specialized bibliography. The results indicate that the Araquembaua community suffered significant impacts on their way of life, especially in access to territory, fishing, agriculture, and socio-cultural relations. However, the study shows that the subjects were not passive in the face of these transformations, developing strategies of adaptation, resistance, and negotiation in the face of state actions.
