The management of public records directly impacts the quality of and access to information made available by government agencies. This article aims to analyze records management guidelines based on Resolution 324/2020 of the National Council of Justice (CNJ) and to compare the records management policies adopted by the Courts of Justice of the states of Pará (TJPA) and Amazonas (TJAM). The study employs both documentary and field research methods. The results indicate that both institutions are aligned with federal guidelines, possessing well-established standards and comprehensive applications regarding records management. However, certain areas warrant attention due to either a lack of regulatory detail or the absence of specific regulations. Field research at the TJPA identified a gap in staff training, potentially linked to a lack of instruction in records management. This deficiency in training regarding the management of produced or received documents may hinder their understanding and application in administrative routines.
