The study adopted a qualitative approach, with an exploratory and descriptive nature, using the Oral History methodology to bring a little of their memories as educators in that region, and Content Analysis was used for the interpretation and discussion of the data collected through semi-structured interviews. The main results revealed that rural education in the community was marked by the absence of public education provision, as well as the non-existence of a school building, so structural precariousness became a limiting factor, with classes taking place in improvised spaces like "oven houses" and wooden shacks. Given the lack of resources and public policies, the teachers developed a "pedagogy of scarcity," creatively using everyday materials, such as bags used to pack rice and flour produced in the local community, as teaching resources. The teaching modality was the multi-grade class, which grouped students of different ages and grades into a single class and in the same "classroom," which was re-signified as a collaborative and peer-tutoring teaching and learning method. The main conclusion demonstrates the positive impact of the work of these educators, which transcended the challenges and hardships and culminated in the literacy of many children of small farmers, forming community leaders and ascending to professions such as agricultural technicians, teachers, and other professions that became the engine of local development and the social organization capacity of the community itself.Acesso AbertoProfessoras do CampoProtagonismo FemininoResiliência ComunitáriaRural TeachersFemale ProtagonismCommunity ResilienceCNPQ::CIENCIAS HUMANAS::EDUCACAOAs narrativas de professoras pioneiras sobre a educação do campo na comunidade Santo Antônio dos Monteiros – Bragança-PATrabalho de Curso - Graduação - ArtigoAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazil
