The text discusses the importance of active methodologies in mathematics teaching, exploring strategies that position the student as the protagonist of their own learning, making education more dynamic, interactive, and meaningful. In this context, the works presented in this portfolio reflect the application of these methodologies in Elementary Education. It consists of two oral presentations (published in conference proceedings), namely: The Importance of Problem Solving in Mathematical Learning, which investigates the impact of problem-solving combined with the use of the abacus and base-ten blocks, demonstrating how these resources enhance students’ logical reasoning and critical thinking; and Mathematical Games in the Development of Operational Skills, which explores the application of mathematical games in teaching basic operations, highlighting that playfulness can make learning more dynamic, engaging, and accessible.
