Methodology: This is a quantitative, cross-sectional, descriptive study, carried out with caregivers of patients belonging to the autistic spectrum, carried out through an online questionnaire mounted on Google Forms and sent in groups that bring together caregivers of autistic people on social networks, such as “Facebook” and “WhatsApp”. Results and discussion: It was observed that children and adolescents with ASD can be considered more vulnerable to COVID-19, not due to their susceptibility to complications from the virus, but due to the characteristics of the clinical condition that make it difficult to properly understand the pandemic scenario, as well as difficulties in following sanitary control and protection measures (62.9%), which predisposes this group to greater risks of contamination. Among the characteristics most strongly impacted by the pandemic, 64.3% of respondents reported changes in mental health, aggressiveness, sleep disorders, increased irritability, appearance of stereotyped behaviors,in addition to impulses and screaming attacks, in addition to that 58.6 % declared that there was a decrease in the social interaction of the child with ASD. Conclusion: With the adoption of measures to control the new Coronavirus pandemic, changes were observed in the usual practices for most individuals with ASD.Acesso AbertoAutismoCOVID-19CriançasAutismChildrenCNPQ::CIENCIAS MEDICA::MEDICINAImpacto da pandemia do covid-19 em crianças com transtorno do espectro autistaTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia
