The COVID-19 pandemic has fostered an increase in the use of digital services, such as e-learning platforms, which depend on spaces for storing and processing large volumes of information generated daily in a reliable manner, regarding the security of personal information, ensuring the availability of access and data preservation. To ensure that all these services remain always accessible, with performance and efficiency, the use of DATA CENTERS is extremely important. In light of this scenario, this work proposes an approach to evaluate the criteria for implementing a physical (proprietary) or cloud data center, taking into account existing models as a reference. Through a comparison of pros and cons, various factors influencing the selection of equipment to be used will be evaluated, such as ensuring a compatible energy supply, environmental suitability, climatic considerations, and geographical factors that facilitate maintenance team access.
