Data collection was carried out in March, specifically with eleven (11) subjects from different families living in this location. These were randomly chosen based on the longest-lived people in the community, who agreed to participate in the study by signing a Free and Informed Consent Term (TCLE). During the interviews, a script containing eight (08) guiding questions on the subject was used as an aid, thus obtaining information about the personal profile of the informants, indications or use of the plant, the part used, method of preparation, dosage and inheritance knowledge about it. In order to carry out the herborization and taxonomic identification of the plant, three (03) branches with leaves and flowers were collected at the margins of the research locus, which were stored in a plastic bag moistened inside and taken to the Federal Institute of Pará (IFPA) -Campus Abaetetuba, where they were pressed, dried and incorporated into the herbarium. The data obtained in this study were analyzed and interpreted quantitatively through tools such as graphs, map and qualitative from the narratives. With the results, nine (9) different types of indications and / or uses of Pachira aquatica Aublet were found by the families of the São Lourenço river, which come from four distinct communities (Maiauatá, Rio das Flores, Cutininga and Guajará of Beja), possessing a cultural memory still alive in relation to the medicinal plant, but somehow invisibilizada, needing of broader ethnobotanical studies that aim to document the vast knowledge that still they possess.
