In this perspective, this article aims to present a meaningful teaching proposal that explores nuances of meaning and word associations according to context and intentionality, through the analysis of the semantic fields of the words truth and lie, based on the literary text Alice no país da mentira [Alice in the Land of Lies], by Pedro Bandeira (2018). The theoretical studies of Biderman (1978), Leffa (2000), and Henriques (2018) served as the foundation for the development of the theme. The contributions of Cosson (2014) and Solé (1998) were relevant to the elaboration of a systematized activities plan using the literary text, supported by analogical didactic resources to expand students’ lexical repertoire and promote better retention of word meanings.
