Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/9836This study analyzes the environmental impacts resulting from the construction of the North Radial Avenue in the Maguari-Açu River sub-basin, located in Ananindeua, focusing on land use and land cover dynamics between 2012 and 2024. The research is based on the premise that accelerated urbanization, when carried out without proper planning, causes significant changes in natural systems, especially in hydrographic basins. The objective is to identify the main environmental impacts and understand the spatial transformations, with emphasis on Permanent Preservation Areas (PPAs). The methodology was based on the integration of spatio-temporal analysis and geoprocessing techniques (using TOPODATA and MapBiomas data), fieldwork, and bibliographic review, allowing the delimitation of the sub-basin, the identification of land use changes, and the assessment of environmental conditions over time. The results indicate that North Radial Avenue acted as a vector of urban expansion, increasing urbanized areas and reducing vegetation cover. An increase in irregular occupation was observed, especially within PPAs, compromising ecological functions such as water resource protection, soil stability, and biodiversity conservation. Problems such as increased surface runoff, water pollution, sedimentation, and flooding were also identified.
