Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8699This text offers two perspectives on the construction of artisanal boats from Campompema Island – PA, based on Ethnomathematics, aiming to highlight scientific knowledge and concepts, in the same vein that values the cultural activity of boat builders, the shipwrights. Thus, in the body of this text, two works (stemming from complementary articles presented at events aimed at enhancing education) are featured, which enhance the productivity of the skilled carpenter, their product (the boat), and their profession. Initially, a study based on photographs/images of objects and the productions that naval carpentry activities can provide is presented, under the guidelines of the BNCC for the early years of elementary education. A posteriori, the interpretations of carpenters regarding the interconnection and/or dialogue of mathematics with the culture of boat building can be presented.
