Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8794This article entitled “The Body Speaks: A cognitive analysis of the conceptual metaphors presents in the social network X” aims to analyze how the metaphors linked to the human body contribute to the construction of meanings. In this sense, the research is based on the contributions of Cognitive Linguistics. To understand its impact on language and thought, the Theory of Conceptual Metaphors by Lakoff and Johnson (1980) was also used, highlighting the parts of the human body as the main domain used as a reference for metaphors. We also sought to analyze the perspective that metaphor is not just a linguistic resource, but involves various processes such as Linguistic Recycling and Polysemy. The basis for the research was the analysis of data collected on the “X” social network between May and July 2025, totaling 44 publications, of which only were analyzed.
