The proposal involved elementary school students in investigative, dialogic, and practical activities, seeking to relate the theme to their daily lives. The didactic sequence was structured to promote awareness, encourage responsible attitudes, and enable the collective construction of knowledge about the environmental impacts caused by the improper disposal of waste cooking oil. The analyzed data were obtained through diagnostic surveys, homework activities, and classroom discussions, revealing that many families still use incorrect disposal methods, such as pouring oil into sinks or disposing of it in regular household waste. Based on these findings, sustainable and socially viable alternatives were discussed, including storage in PET bottles, household reuse, and donation for soap production.
