Acesso em:.http://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/1689The present work refers to the development of a data acquisition system capable of monitoring the conventional welding processes by voltaic arc. The variables of interest of this work are: temperature, voltage and electric current of the voltaic arc, which will be measured with the aid of sensors and transducers suitable for each of the variables in question and read by the ATmega328P microcontroller of the Arduino UNO platform. These components will be physically connected through a printed circuit board, allowing the flow of data and energy between Arduino and other peripheral components that integrate the system, and besides of monitoring it enables the storage of instantaneous data of welding operations by voltaic arc obtained at each bead, allowing the user to analyze and identify through overlapping voltage and current graphs the metallic transfer mode, apart from relating their influence on the operational characteristics of the processes such as: arc stability, level of spatter and geometric characteristics of the weld bead. The obtaining temperature graphs assists in monitoring other qualitative operational factors, such as the deposition of the addition metal and the fusion of the base metal by relating them to the selection of the welding current. Based on the results of the experiments, it was possible to observe the influence of current and voltage values on the bead geometry and aspects such as width, penetration, weld bead fusion, defects and level of spatter. The analysis of the beads allowed us to identify that for smaller values of current and voltage the arc behaved more unstable, with high levels of spatter, the weld bead showed few penetrations in the metal base, defects and narrow beads. For higher values of current and tension the arc obtained greater stability and few spatters, however the beads were wider, with good penetration and with a higher thermal contribution which explains the quality of the beads. The graphs obtained in the experiments showed the stability of the arc varying for the different values of current and voltage. In addition, through the graphs, it was possible to observe the dynamic behavior of the arc and the type of metallic transfer of each bead.
