Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8691This article focuses on the analysis of non-canonical quantifiers employed by the LGBTQIAPN+ community. Grounded in Functionalist Theory, this study aims to present and examine linguistic structures that, within traditional grammar, are not categorized as quantifiers but, in pajubá (a sociolect used by the LGBTQIAPN+ community), have been redefined for communicative purposes. To support this discussion, the research is based on the works of grammarians and linguists, as well as on the theories and postulates of Functional Linguistics, as presented by Bybee (2010), Cunha, Oliveira and Martelotta (2003), Givón (1995), Oliveira (2020), and Rosário (2015, 2022). Furthermore, a fieldwork was conducted, which proved essential for the collection of the corpus, through informal and semi-structured interviews with 5 participants who self-identified as members of the LGBTQIAPN+ community in QuatipuruPA, Brazil. Thus, this work significantly contributes to the development of linguistic studies by demonstrating that language reflects social, cultural, and identity practices, highlighting the flexibility of grammar and showing that language use is inherently connected to communicative needs. In this sense, the research advances a functionalist perspective of language, emphasizing its dynamism and adaptability.
