The investigation and analysis in this study involved evaluating the parameters of microstrip antennas, as well as observing their performance and characteristics as halter-shaped slots were introduced to the radiating element, thereby altering the antenna's geometry. This analysis succinctly covers three scenarios: an antenna without slots, an antenna with one slot, and an antenna with two slots. As a design tool for analyzing antenna scenarios with the introduction of slots in its geometry, the HFSS software was employed. This software facilitated the study of antenna parameters as its geometric shape was modified. The experimental data of the constructed antenna were collected with the assistance of a low-cost device, the portable vector network analyzer LiteVNA-64. This device aims to simplify antenna measurements and analyses, standing out for its cost-effective approach. The key parameters analyzed demonstrated that the introduction of halter-shaped slots in the radiating element of the antenna resulted in satisfactory performance, both in simulated and measured results. Furthermore, the addition of halter-shaped slots contributed to the emergence of a new operating frequency for the antenna, enabling it to operate at 2,06 GHz and 2,4 GHz, with gains of 5,665 dBi and 6,912 dBi, respectively. This outcome renders the antenna suitable for WI-FI applications and other technologies within the corresponding frequency range. This characteristic proves essential, particularly when considering the pursuit of efficient operation for antennas in dual-frequency bands.
