Acesso em: .https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8533Adequate food and nutrition are fundamental for fish at various stages of development, but deprivation or inadequate feeding frequencies can cause problems in productive performance and, in this sense, the use of probiotics can help in better use of nutrients and increased health. Thus, the objective of the study was to evaluate the effects of deprivation and feeding frequency of Heros severus fry fed a diet supplemented with Enterococcus faecium. The experiment was carried out in a 2 x 5 factorial scheme, consisting of two food frequencies (Fr: 2x and 4x a day) and four food deprivations (P: 7/0; P: 6/1, P: 5/2 and P: Alt), including the control (C: 7/0, without addition of probiotic), all in triplicate, for 45 days. At the end of the experiment, the zootechnical performance was analyzed. There was no interaction between frequency and food deprivation (p>0.05), the frequency factor did not show a significant difference between 2x and 4x however. Regarding the deprivation factor, higher values of final length, final weight, length gain and weight gain were observed for fish in the deprivation treatment P: 7/0 and P: 6/1 in relation to the control (C: 7/0), as well as better apparent feed conversion and survival (100%). Therefore, the use of probiotic E. faecium combined with different frequency and food deprivation strategies provided greater growth for H. severus, recommending the P: 6/1 treatment strategy.Acesso AbertoCrescimento compensatórioFrequência alimentarRestrição alimentarAlimentoCompensatory growthFood frequencyFood restrictionFoodCNPQ::CIENCIAS AGRARIAS::RECURSOS PESQUEIROS E ENGENHARIA DE PESCA::AQUICULTURAProbiótico autóctone Enterococcus faecium em diferentes estratégias de alimentação da espécie ornamemtal amazonico Herus severusTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - MonografiaAttribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazil
