Acesso em: .https://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/7250The University Campus of Marajó-Breves belongs to the Federal University of Pará, it is inserted in this Amazonian phytophysiognomy and the constant contact between arthropods of medical interest with the academic community motivated the development of this study. During the period from July 11 to 24, 2019, during the practical activities of the Zoology of Invertebrates discipline, a quick inventory was carried out of the arthropods of medical interest on the Campus, in order to know these organisms, stimulate awareness environmental about its ecological importance and, still, to inform the academic community about measures to be taken to avoid possible accidents and/or contact. Representatives of the classes Insecta and Arachnida were found. For Insecta, hematophagous mosquitoes such as the species Aedes aegypti (Diptera: Culicidae), the main transmitter of dengue, chikungunya (chikungunya) and associated with the transmission of yellow fever in Brazilian urban areas, in addition to the stable fly, Stomoxys calcitrans (Diptera: Muscidae), responsible for outbreaks in dogs in the municipality. For Arachnida, ticks (Arachnida: Ixodidae), and studies indicate that students, after rural workers, are the most attacked by these animals in Marajó. The species Tityus obscurus (Arachnida: Scorpiones) was also found, one of the main causes of poisoning in the Brazilian Amazon. And crab spiders (Arachnida: Theraphosidae), conferring with the species Lasiodora parahybana, which has stinging bristles and can generate, among others, allergies.
