Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/handle/prefix/8351The objective of this study is to describe and analyze the lexicon of female shrimp fishers from the Ponta Bom Jesus community in São Caetano de Odivelas, Pará, in order to understand the role of women in the daily life of the community in the social, economic and cultural spheres. To this end, we intend to investigate the female labor process in shrimp fishing in order to analyze how the speech of the shrimp fishers reflects their social context and their role in the community. Through valuable contact with the workers, we developed a qualitative study with interviews in which the routine questions allowed them freedom to tell their life stories, enabling the analysis of the lexicon representative of the shrimp fishers. The conversations exposed not only the fishing techniques and the difficulties faced, but also emphasized the cultural and economic importance of this activity for the local community.
