Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/7612In this work, a scientific article titled "Patch antenna for bio-inspired wireless communication based on the Hoya Pubicalyx flower"is presented, developed during the period from September 2023 to August 2024. This work was achieved with results from a Scientific Initiation Research Project (PIBIC), under the guidance of professors Andrécia Pereira da Costa and André Felipe Souza da Cruz. The mentioned article was presented at the XIV National Conference on Communications, Networks, and Security (ENCOM), held at the Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Norte (IFRN) in the city of Natal/RN. This work was prepared following resolution no1/2024 of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FEE), Tucuruí University Campus (CAMTUC) of the Federal University of Pará (UFPA), which regulates the terms for the flexibility of the Course Completion Work in the IN no5/2023 of PROEG-UFPA. The article presents the design of a patch antenna inspired by the geometry of the Hoya Pubicalyx flower, popularly known as the wax flower. The antenna has dimensions of 42.8 × 42.8 × 1.5 mm3, manufactured on an FR4 substrate with a relative permittivity of 4.4 and a loss tangent of 0.02, fed by a coaxial cable with an input impedance of 50 . For numerical characterization, the Ansys Electronics Desktop (HFSS) software was used, and for experimental characterization, the LiteVNA-64 was employed. The obtained results indicate that the proposed antenna has a bandwidth of 60 MHz, a return loss S11 ≤ −10 dB, and VSWR below 2, considering the simulated and measured resonance frequencies of 2.46 GHz and 2.42 GHz, respectively. The simulated radiation patterns show directional characteristics, with a maximum gain of 2.88 dBi at 2.46 GHz. The experimental results show good agreement with the simulated results.Acesso AbertoAntena patchCabo coaxialFR4Flor Hoya PubicalyxGeometria bioinspiradaPatch antennaCoaxial cableHoya Pubicalyx flowerBio-inspired geometryCNPQ::ENGENHARIAS::ENGENHARIA ELETRICA::TELECOMUNICACOES::TEORIA ELETROMAGNETICA, MICROONDAS, PROPAGACAO DE ONDAS, ANTENASAntena patch para comunicação wireless bioinspirada na flor Hoya PubicalyxPatch antenna for bio-inspired wireless communication based on the Hoya Pubicalyx flowerTrabalho de Curso - Graduação - Artigo
