Acesso em:.https://bdm.ufpa.br/jspui/handle/prefix/7704This Course Conclusion Paper aimed to discuss the contributions of living stories through oral narratives about the social historical knowledge of a traditional community for the teachinglearning process of these children. This research proposed to answer the following main question: how can storytelling, through oral narratives, contribute to the teaching process - children's learning in early childhood education? The guiding questions linked to this research problem were: how, based on oral narratives, is it possible to stimulate the child's cognitive and social development? What is the importance of working on living stories through oral narratives in early childhood education? How can the school value the living stories of the riverside community? For its implementation, a bibliographic search was initially carried out. Subsequently, the qualitative approach was chosen, and the type of research was the case study in an early childhood school, Canto do Saber, located in Vila do Piriá, municipality of Curralinho-PA. For data collection, semi-structured interviews were conducted for 02 (two) teachers, and informal conversations for 06 (six) students.
