The aim of this work was to evaluate, based on the integration of geological, petrographic, mineralogical, and geochemical data available in the literature and others now obtained, the potential for mineral deposits associated with the part of the archean rocks and laterite occurring in the Vila Tancredo region, since the few mining companies focuses supergene deposits. We conducted selection of samples, and petrographic description by optical microscopy, and SEM analyses. The petrography was complemented by X-ray diffraction and chemical analysis by X-ray fluorescence. The structural and metamorphic pattern was compared to the literature and suggests potential for the occurrence lode-type orogenic gold deposit; as well VHMS. The mineralogy of laterites consists of iron oxide-hydroxide, clay, and quartz, with muscovite, and chromite also representing a mineral resistant to weathering. Chemical analysis allowed classify as ferruginous laterites. The relationship between SiO2, Al2O3, and Fe2O3 allowed defining levels laterization ranging from incipient to intense. Regarding trace elements, the analysis showed that the samples show significant concentrations of Co, Ni, Cr, and Cu, and the Marc 32 sample shows higher content of these elements. These elements represent associations common in many lateritic crusts.
